Holiday Favorites
In the interest of wintery nights, weekends of holiday shopping and the occasional evening reading by a fire, I have rounded up three more things that bring me joy.
It's that time of year when we selflessly delve into thinking about what might please those we love and what might delight them when they open their gifts. In our house, we celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah, which makes for more shopping, more traditions and more fun. After a day of shopping for friends and family, a chilly evening spent reading by the fire cozied up in the softest blanket on earth is the perfect way to relax. A Visual Inventory John Pawson by Phaidon is an intimate peek into the mind of my favorite architect. John Pawson’s practiced restraint is a lifetime study in minimalism. His monastic approach to creating both interior and exterior space is the stuff of legend, and I love stealing moments in the evening to share in his view of the world. This beautiful catalogue of his personal photos is a visual diary with textures, shadows and the art of finding the extraordinary in the everyday world we live in. This book is a great addition to the library of any architecture lover.
So, after many trips to Jenni Kayne’s store, I finally took the plunge and bought her Saddle Suede Mules. I don’t know what took me so long. They are perfection and feel like a slipper, perfect for long days of shopping. This particular pair goes great with heather grey and navy blue. They also look gorgeous with midi slip dresses and chunky knits. Buy them, don’t look back and enjoy!
